From Opera Now, Nov/Dec issue of 1999

Opera Now invited a panel of leading figures in the opera world to select names to watch out for in 2000. Matthew Peacock Assistant Editor of Opera Now wrote:

"Sometimes you hear singers who impress you because the voice is beguilingly beautiful, the technique is faultless or the acting is movingly committed. Increasingly, I notice that some artists with all three qualities often still have somthing missing, leaving a select few who have something extra - a spark - that you notice, often, after the very first phrase. Icelandic Soprano Hrafnhildur Björnsdóttir impressed in Reykjavík as Adele in Die Fledermaus."
