Sheltie á Íslandi/Shelties in Iceland

    Fyrstu hreinræktuðu Shetland Sheepdog hundarnir voru fluttir inn 1992.  Þetta voru tvær tíkur, IS.CH.Eastdale Just Fancy That og Int.Ch.Is.Ch Westpark Blue Dream. 1996 var svo fluttur inn einn hundur frá USA, Alex Frederick of Yrar og ári síðar (1997) var Caravan Prins Charming of Yrar fluttur inn frá Noregi.
Í júlí 1998 flutti eigandinn, Agnes Ýr, ásamt þessum fjórum hundum til Svíþjóðar á Kennel Yrar en eftir urðu fimm sheltie hvolpar hérlendis.

 In the year 1992 two purebreded Shetland Sheepdogs were inported from Sweden to Iceland. Theese were two bitches, IS.CH.Eastdale Just Fancy That and Int.Ch.Is.Ch.Westpark Blue Dream. Then1996 one male came from USA, Alex Frederick of Yrar and in 1997 another male came from Norway, Caravan Prince Charming of Yrar. In july 1998 the owner, Agnes Yr, moved with her four shelties to Kennel Yrar in Sweden but she left behind one sheltie litter.

    Það var 3 maí 1998 að fyrsta Shetland Sheepdog got á Íslandi leit dagsins ljós. Þetta voru fimm hvolpar (fjórar tíkur og einn hundur) undan Alex Frederick of Yrar og IS.CH.Eastdale Just Fancy That.   
 
    Í dag eru 17 Shetland Sheepdog hundar skráðir hjá Hundaræktarfélagi Íslands.

On may 3rd 1998 the first Shetland Sheepdog puppies were born in Iceland.  They were five (four bitches and one dog) sired by Alex Frederick of Yrar  x   dam: IS.CH.Eastdale Just Fancy That.
   Today there are 17 Shetland Sheepdogs registered by the Icelandic Kennel Club.
